The IMA is aware that many members are keen to use the IMA logo in connection with their professional activities in order to demonstrate their standing in the money advice sector and their membership of and identification with the IMA whose aims are to encourage the highest of professional standards in the delivery of free money and debt advice.
The logo and the full name of the IMA are registered trademarks. The IMA is keen to promote its use and requires members to digitally sign the trade mark licence agreement in order to authorise its use. The trade mark to be used is shown in schedule 2 of the agreement.
The trade mark licence agreement sets out the conditions of use of the trade mark. To be able to use it members must
- be an accredited IMA member,
- have obtained CertMAP, and
- meet the CPD scheme requirements
The trade mark must be used in the exact form set out in the agreement with no alterations to it. It can be used on professional profiles (for example where your profile appears on your organisations’ website) and on correspondence, e mail footers and business cards. Its use must be limited to your professional money and debt advice activities.
There are a number of circumstances in which a member will be required to cease using it and this includes if they are no longer IMA members or fail to meet the requirements of the CPD Programme. The IMA also has the ability to terminate the licence agreement in certain circumstances.
