The IMA is always striving to make training more accessible, including seeking sponsors to fund free or reduced cost training.
Currently the following free or reduced cost training opportunities are available:
- Free training places for some MaPS funded advisers
- IMA-subsidised training places for non-MaPS-funded IMA members
- Free training for Non-Practising and Trainee members
See below for full details.
Free training places for some MaPS-funded advisers
We are once again delighted to be able to offer free training for MaPS funded advisers. Please note, that this funding is only available for advisers funded under mainstream MaPS projects for which compliance with the MaPS CPD scheme is also a requirement. For courses on our April to September programme, MaPS funded advisers can claim a free place. This is limited to one place per MaPS funded adviser. Funding is limited and places are subject to availability.

IMA-subsidised training places for non-MaPS funded IMA Members
We are once again offering an IMA subsidy for non-MaPS funded members. This applies only to full day courses.
The subsidy is £45 per courses and reduces the amount payable to only £50. This is limited to one subsidised course per eligible member and is subject to availability. To claim a subsidised place please select a non-MaPS funded subsidised place in the fee box on the online booking form.

Free training for Non-Practising and Trainee members
If you are an IMA member in the Non-Practising or Trainee categories and there is a course that you want to attend, email firstname.lastname@example.org in the morning no more than two working days prior to the course date. If there is an unallocated place available, you can book it free of charge.
We are unable to guarantee that free places will be available on a particular course; if it is very important that you attend, we advise you to book a chargeable place using the normal booking process.
In the past we’ve received also generous sponsorship from:
- Grant Thornton
- Money and Pensions Service
- Money Saving Expert Charity
- Severn Trent Trust Fund
