Each year we run training programmes which deliver around twenty different course subjects to over 2,000 people at venues around the country. We try to keep a balance between regularly adding exciting new topics of study and continuing to provide learning opportunities on the fundamentals of money advice.

Prices are fixed and are charged per delegate. IMA members receive a substantial discount- in fact, if you’re considering attending two IMA training sessions, membership pays for itself.

You can download the full training programme that is currently running: IMA Training Programme January – March 2017

You can also download our upcoming training programme here: IMA Training Programme April – June 2017

What you need to know

Follow this link for full terms and conditions.

Lunch is not provided on these courses, but there are refreshment breaks in the morning and afternoon with tea and coffee provided.

We aim to use venues which are accessible to those with mobility difficulties. We have in the past accommodated guide dogs, support workers, BSL interpreters and nursing mothers. We can also supply course materials in alternative formats for those with visual impairments or learning difficulties. Please talk to us in advance to discuss how we can meet your needs.

In-house training

We’ve delivered training in-house for government departments, housing associations, universities, debt management firms, law services, local authorities and citizens advice bureaux.

We can arrange for one of the courses from our programme to be delivered in-house at your organisation if you have a number of advisers who would like to participate in the course.

We can alternatively design and deliver a customised course for you, providing bespoke training to meet your particular needs. Our trainers are experts in their field and bring with them a wealth of practical experience.

Either way, the IMA will provide the trainer and all materials. You will simply need to provide the venue.

We charge a flat rate for an in-house training event, irrespective of the number of delegates, which can be very cost effective if you have a group to train, particularly if they are not IMA members. We train all types of organisation, though we are able to offer substantial discounts to charities and statutory bodies.
