IMA Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme

The IMA is very happy to work in partnership with Staffordshire University enabling members to study the Certificate in Money Advice Practice (CertMAP). Following successful completion of the qualification to remain accredited and able to use MIMA (Cert) after their names, advisers should adhere to the IMA CPD Scheme.

We encourage all those that have passed CertMAP to participate in order to develop and maintain money advice expertise and uphold the high standards to which the IMA is committed.

The IMA CPD requires:

  • MIMA (Certs) to gain 16 CPD points annually between 1 November and 31 October
  • Submission of a record of activities in November each year
  • Activities from 3 of the following categories:
  • Training (mandatory)
  • Meetings and forums
  • Qualifications
  • Reading/writing/research
